“I am a class teacher who teaches in a inner-city school in the heart of Bristol. It is a rewarding and challenging job and no more so than this year. Back in March suddenly the world was in the grip of a global pandemic and the edcuation of the nation’s children suddenly changed. At this point I was offered the chance to take part in School Coaching Programme, which I agreed, not really knowing what to expect. What I experienced during the course of these sessions has informed, molded and changed elements of my practise for the better.

Back in March I was suddently required to deal with a great deal of change both personally and professionally. I was faced with a steep learning curve in the change of technology required to assimilate new teaching practises and I also had to manage a family with a member who was considered extremely vulnerable.

During my coaching session Charlotte was able to help me discuss my challenges and fears (of which I had many) I was required to work from home in a busy household, Manage the emotions of my family and also the worry about the children that are normally in my care in the classroom, but whom faced time at home often in challenging situations.

Charlotte was able to help me talk through many situations to enable me to have better clarity about what exactly I was feeling. We were able to talk about the elements of my job I was feeling challenging. At the beginning of the coaching process I felt that I had no control what so ever and that everything was just happening to me. Over the course of the sessions I was able to break down my concerns and find positive solutions. I found that as time went on I was able to be pro-active in my approach to my work and this helped me feel more in control. Charlotte also helped me see work based scenarios from others perspectives, especially in terms of my head teacher.

All in all I found the coaching experience to be a very helpful and rewarding experience. Charlotte’s warm, freindly manner is able to put you at ease. Through careful listening and questioning she enables you to talk through a situation and come to your own conclusions. During a very challenging time her help and guidance was an invaluable tool to guide me through. Thank You Charlotte.”
